For Volunteers

Household Management

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread through the Houston community, those working on the front lines in health care and public health will likely need additional assistance with safe and reliable child care and errands so that they can continue to serve those affected by the virus.  As higher learning institutions have transitioned to online learning, we are in a unique position to step into these roles and help support our local community in this unprecedented time.

We are currently accepting qualified volunteers enrolled in any health professions school, graduate education program, or university; undergraduate and post-graduate students are welcome.

For all volunteer services: we require volunteers be up to date on vaccinations, and have passed a background check for their academic program. CPR certification is recommended, but not required.

If you meet the criteria above and you're interested in helping out, please fill out this online form. If you have any questions or suggestions please email us at volunteers@htxcovidsitters.org

If you are not a student and you want to help out our community, please refer to our growing "Community Volunteering" opportunities.

These services are completely voluntary and not endorsed by, or provided in association with any of the institutions of the Texas Medical Center.

Web Tutoring Services

We are currently accepting qualified volunteers enrolled in any health professions, graduate school, or university degree program.

eCards for Seniors

As we continue to practice social distancing, senior citizens in nursing home and assisted living facilities are especially subject to social isolation. In an effort to reach out to this community we're launching the eCards for Seniors program: a remote volunteering opportunity to help senior citizens stay in contact with the world around them.

Anyone is eligible to volunteer! Fill out this online form if you are interested in helping out. For questions or suggestions, reach out to outreach@htxcovidsitters.org

If you are affiliated with a nursing home, assisted living facility, or any senior community and would like to partner with us, please reach out at outreach@htxcovidsitters.org

Institutions we currently serve:
